Hello! My name is Sarah Whittaker. This is my 9th year teaching at Lebanon Junction Elementary. I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I also have my Master's from the University of the Cumberlands as a Literacy Specialist and my National Board Certification in Early Childhood Education I love teaching my students how to read and communicate effectively. It’s amazing to see what growth can be made when kids love to be at school. Math is a lot of fun, too. However, I think the very best part of being a teacher is getting to know each and every one of “my kids”.
These are some fun facts about myself, just in case you wanted to get to know me better:

These are some fun facts about myself, just in case you wanted to get to know me better:
- I have a seven-year-old son, Reed. He’s in 2nd grade at LJES, too! I love watching him grow as a friend and leader.
- I love reading historical fiction in my free time (after Netflix has been binge-watched, of course). A few of my favorite books are “All the Light We Cannot See” and “To Wake the Giant”.
- I went to school at LJES when I was in elementary school. Until college, my entire education was from Bullitt County Public Schools.
